Description
1930. gadu sākumā tika nolemts neatjaunot I Pasaules karā sagrauto baznīcu Daugavas krastā, bet būvēt jaunu - Ikšķiles centrā. 1931. gada 28. jūnijā tika ielikts baznīcas pamatakmens. Šajā laikā draudze noturēja dievkalpojumus Tīnūžu muižas zālē. Baznīcu iesvētīja 1933. gadā, pēc gada tornī uzstādīja Liepājas kara ostas darbnīcās izgatavoto zvanu. Altārgleznas autors ir ikšķilietis, Latvijas Mākslas akadēmijas profesors J. Kuga. Arhitekts P. Kundziņš. Valsts nozīmes arhitektūras piemineklis.
