Gulbenes – Alūksnes šaursliežu dzelzceļa posms 33 km garumā ir vienīgais Baltijā, kur var pavizināties ar regulāri kursējošu šaursliežu vilcienu. Šis posms ir saglabājies no 1903.gada 210 km garās šaursliežu dzelzceļa līnijas Stukmaņi – Valka. Šaursliežu dzelzceļš Gulbene – Alūksnes ir atzīts par valsts nozīmes kultūras pieminekli. Šajā maršrutā pēc saraksta kursē trīs vilcienu pāri dienā. Pārvadājumiem izmanto 20. gs. 60. un 80. gadu dīzeļlokomotīves un vagonus. Šobrīd ir restaurēta un darbojas arī tvaika lokomotīve. Pašlaik tiek restaurēta 1947.gadā Vācijā būvētā šaursliežu lokomotīve.
