Description
Pirmā luterāņu baznīca Kaltenē celta 1567. gadā, tagadējā baznīca būvēta 1704. gadā, pārbūvēta 1848.gadā. Pēdējo reizi baznīca pārbūvēta 1926. gadā pēc sašaušanas 1915. gadā. Baznīcas iekārta būvēta vienkāršās neogotiskās formās. Restaurētā altārglezna «Kristus un Pēteris uz jūras» ir M. Pola darbs (1886/1890, kopija no R. Rihtera oriģināla). Kancelē atrodas 18. gadsimta koka skulptūras. Ērģeles būvējis ērģeļu speciālists Augusts Martins 1843. gadā, un tās sākotnēji tika uzstādītas Gulbenes baznīcā, bet 1934. gadā tās pārdeva un pārveda uz Kaltenes baznīcu. Padomju gados, kapsētā pie Kaltenes baznīcas, tika filmētas pirmās epizodes filmai "Ilgais ceļš kāpās", kuras darbība norisinās nelielā zvejniekciemā.
