Cēsu Jaunā pils būvēta vecās ordeņpils vārtu nocietinājuma vietā 1777.gadā, kad Cēsu pilsmuižu ieguva grāfs K.E.Zīverss. Zīversu dzimtai pilsmuiža piederēja līdz 1917.gadam. Jaunās Pils torņa apakšējie stāvi ir saglabājusies daļa no ordeņpils Lademahera torņa. Torņa trešais un ceturtais stāvi (gotiskās stilā; šaurāki par pirmajiem diviem par 2,4 m) piebūvēti, iespējams, 19.gs 20.gados, veicot pils pārbūvi. Torņa fasāde kompozicionāli pieskaņota pilsdrupu torņiem. Uzkāpjot Jaunās pils Lademahera tornī, paveras brīnišķīgs skats uz pilsdrupām un Gaujas Nacionālā parka mežu ieskauto pilsētu. Pils tornī uzvilktais karogs lepni apliecina, ka Cēsis ir Latvijas nacionālā karoga dzimtene.
