Dāvida dzirnavu avotu ūdenskritumi
- Vaives pagasts, Cēsu novads, Latvija
Description
Augstums: Parasti tiek norādīts, ka šo ūdenskritumu augstums ir 7 metri. Šāds varētu būt kopējais pār laukakmeņiem krītošā ūdenskrituma (krāces) augstums tuvāk dzirnavu ēkai. Savukārt pār dolomīta slāņiem krītošā ūdenskrituma augstums ir ap 1,6 m.
Platums: Avoti izplūst ap 70 m platā joslā, taču to nevar uzskatīt par ūdenskrituma platumu. Pār dolomītiem krītošā ūdenskrituma platums ir ap 1 metrs.
Ūdenstece: Dāvida dzirnavu avoti, kuri tūlīt ieplūst Vaives upē
Pieejamība: Viegli pieejams ir pār laukakmeņiem krītošais ūdenskritums. Uz dzirnavām no Rīgas - Alūksnes šosejas nogriežas maz lauku ceļš - to gan nav viegli ievērot - es vienmēr pabraucu garām. Savukārt uz dolomīta ūdenskritumu pagaidām nav ierīkota tūristu taka, tāpēc tās aplūkotājam var gadīties pa ceļam ievelties košajos avota dubļos, kurus ir ĻOTI grūti izmazgāt no drēbēm. Labāk nemēģiniet turp iet.
Atrašanās vieta: Cēsu rajons, Vaives pagasts, netālu no Vaives, Vaives upes kreisā krasta stāvajā nogāzē
Apraksts: Pie Dāvida dzirnavām Vaives krastā izplūst daudz avotu, kuru ūdens satur dzelzs sāļus. Tāpēc nelielo strautiņu gultni izklāj koši orandžbrūnas nogulsnes. Vietās, kur strautiņi pa stāvajām Vaives ielejas nogāzēm krīt pār laukakmeņiem, veidojas neparasti, koši orandži ūdenskritumi. Laukakmeņi, iespējams, šeit nonākuši mākslīgi, būvējot dzirnavas. Savukārt nomaļāk atrodas koši krāsots, vertikāls dolomīta ūdenskritums ar vairākām pakāpēm - tas ir dabiski veidojies.
Šie nav Latvijas lielākie ūdenskritumi - bet vieni no neparastākajiem gan.
