Kurmenes katoļu baznīca uzcelta 1870. gadā kā grāfu Komorovsku privātā kapela. Lietošanai draudzes iedzīvotājiem tā atdota tikai 1920. gadā, kad grāfiem tika atņemtas īpašuma tiesības. Baznīca celta iepriekšējās koka baznīcas vietā. No koka baznīcas saglabājusies glezna (B. E. Muriljo gleznas reprodukcija) – Sv. Padujas Antonija Vīzija -, kas šobrīd tiek restaurēta Latvijas Mākslas akadēmijā, kā arī soli, ērģeļu prospekts, dievgalds, biktssoli, kas 80tajos gados tika nokrāsots ar grīdas krāsām – šobrīd no krāsām attīrīti – paliek tīrā kokā. Otrā sānu altārī atrodas reta gleznas reprodukcija – Sv. Pēteris tiek atbrīvots no cietuma. Arī šī glezna šobrīd tiek restaurēta Latvijas Māksla akadēmijā. Baznīcā tiek veikts kosmētiskais remonts, ir apsildāmās grīdas. Baznīca ir silta un gaiša, atvērta visu laiku. Apmeklētājiem pieejama no 8.00 līdz 22.00 (par citiem laikiem var vienoties telefoniski).
Tā kā Kurmenes Romas Katoļu baznīcas patrons ir Sv. Pēteris, katru gadu 29.jūnijā Kurmenē notiek vērienīgi pasākumi.
