1897. gadā likts pamatakmens Saldus pareizticīgo baznīcas ēku būvei. Pareizticīgo draudze nostiprinājās un paplašinājās Krievijas valdīšanas laikā līdz pirmajam pasaules karam. Baznīcā skatāmas interesantas 19. gs. ikonas “Kristus augšāmcelšanās, “Kristus valdnieks”, “Kazaņas Dievmāte”.
