Description
Muzeja ēka būvēta 19. gs. trešajā ceturksnī, un 1861. gadā tā bija viena no septiņpadsmit akmens celtnēm Režicā. 1884. gadā ēku slimnīcas vajadzībām pārpirka pilsēta par 2 900 rubļiem. Kad 1932. gadā tika uzbūvēta jaunā Latvijas Sarkanā Krusta slimnīca, bijušajā savrupmājā ierīkoja krievu pamatskolu.1937. gadā Rēzeknes Dome Latgales centrālajam muzejam nomā nodeva trīs lielas telpas Atbrīvošanas alejā 102. 1938. gadā muzejs sāka savu darbu. 1940. gadā tā kolekcijā bija jau 1226 eksponāti, bet 1941. gadā daļa tika noslēpta pilsētas domes pagrabos, bet otra – privātās noliktavās. Pats muzejs tika pārveidots par štābu.Savas durvis muzejs atkal vēra vaļā 1960. gada 21. jūlijā. Ilgus gadus tas bija Rēzeknes novadpētniecības muzejs, līdz 1990. gadā tas tika pārveidots par Latgales Kultūrvēstures muzeju.Muzejā vienkopus savākta nozīmīga Latgales keramikas, tēlotājmākslas kolekcija, kā arī etnogrāfisko priekšmetu kolekcija. Tajā darbojas zinātniskā bibliotēka, kas piedāvā apmeklētājiem literatūru par Latgali.Apmeklētājiem muzejs sniedz iespēju iepazīt divas pastāvīgās ekspozīcijas – „Rēzekne laikmetu griežos” un „Latgales keramika”, kā arī skatīt dažādas izstādes.
