Description
Augškalnes Romas katoļu draudzes sv. Ģimenes baznīca ir ar ķieģeļiem apmūrēta koka celtne, 18,5 m gara un 8,5 m plata. 1946. gada pavasarī prāvests Jāni Strods uzsāka jaunas baznīcas būvi 1944. gadā nodegušās baznīcas vietā. Draudzes locekļi bija atsaucīgi, īpaši Demperu un Rudzišku ļaudis. Daļu būvmateriālu iepirka mežniecībā, bet lielāko daļu saziedoja paši draudzes locekļi. Ēkas karkasu uzcēla no baļķiem, tad apšuva ar dēļiem, bet vidu piepildīja ar zāģu skaidām. 1947. gada 14. augustā prāvests Jānis Strods jaunuzcelto baznīcu iesvētīja.
