Skolas parks un Iepazīšanās dārzs Krimūnās

Travellers can enjoy wonderful moments in the School Park on the side of the Dobele-Zaļenieki road beside the Krimūnas Primary School. It was created as a place for recreational activities, walks, and picnics. There are plantations of various woody plants and trees in the park which have been planted for a special purpose. Various design elements, wooden benches, and tables complete the overall appearance of the park. There is also a campfire site in the park. However, the maple is the pride of the park. Decorated with wooden letters crafted by the students, the maple is also the symbol of the school. There is also a new open-air stage nearby which ranked second in the contest Latvian Construction Award 2017 in the category ‘Wooden Structure’. A cognitive and sensory trail Visiting the Beech has been created in the School Park. When walking along the 400 m long path barefoot, you can feel the pebbles, cones, acorns, and other natural materials under your feet. Guided tours that include various interactive tasks are offered to groups. Prior notification is required calling 25488435. The Garden of Meeting located a little further stands out with the large variety of woody plants planted by the owners of the tidiest homesteads in the parish. In 2016, the Alley of Latvian Signs was inaugurated. Ten Latvian ethnographic signs have been placed at the end of the path at the large beech where you will also find benches and a wooden bridge. These patterns were carved in the oak-tree by the artisan and Auce Seconary School teacher Jānis Bensons. Under each sign you will find information about its meaning.

In the centre of the parish, guests are welcomed by a secular stone of national significance with a total weight of 40 tons which was found in the parish territory while implementing a water management project. As a result of a local survey, the secular stone was named ‘Krimūnu Dižpēdis’ – ‘the Bigfoot of Krimūnas’.
