Baznīcas pamatakmens iesvētīts 1937. gada 11. septembrī, tas notiek ar arhibīskapa – profesora T. Grīnberga svētību. Pirms tam dievkalpojumi notiek Dzedru jeb Mārtiņskolā. Pamatakmens beidzas ar vārdiem: „ … jo citu pamatu neviens nevar likt kā to, kas jau likts, proti – Jēzus Kristus.” 1. Kor.3.11. Baznīca celta pēc profesora P. Kundziņa projekta, spāru svētku reizē Valsts Prezidents K. Ulmanis ziedo Ls 5000, ziedojumu vāc arī vietējie iedzīvotāji, draudzes mācītāja P. Namgauda svētīti. Baznīca iesvētīta 1940. gada 21. jūlijā, kad virs Latvijas jau samilzuši drūmie laikmetu griežu padebeši. Svinīgo gājienu no Mārtiņskolas uz Mārtiņa baznīcu pavada milicijas darbinieki, cilvēku acīs asaras, taču ļaudis iepriecina jaukais, vienkāršais dievnama veidols. Griestus grezno 24 zaru kroņlukturis, tas darināts pēc arhitekta T. Rezevska projekta, kuru 2000. gadā nolaupa garnadži. Baznīca ir vienkārša, ļoti pievilcīga un mājīga ar izcili labu akustiku. Ir ērģeles. Baznīcas darbība izbeigta 1965.gadā, kādu laiku to izmanto kā kapliču. Dievnamā kalpojuši mācītāji: Pauls Namgauds, Jānis Matulis, Artūrs Kaminskis, Valdis Amols un citi. Pēc atjaunošanas pirmais dievkalpojums notiek 1988.gada Ziemsvētkos, tas ir atmodas laika sākums Ķūļciemā. Draudze reģistrēta un atjaunota 1991. gada 27. februārī
