Komunistiskā genocīda upuru piemiņas vieta

In 2002, a group of locals who had suffered from repressions came up with the idea to create a new, more visible memorial site to commemorate those who had suffered and died during the repressions in 1941 and 1949. In terms of architecture, this commemorative ensemble resembles a platform, from which once people had been deported. In the east, it ends with a sculptural object, more specifically, a large boulder leaving deep traces in the concrete. The symbolic railway track consists of compositional flower plantings. The stone, which forms part of the commemorative ensemble, was discovered in the territory of Dobele Parish, on the property of Juris Dabra, a victim of political repressions. He gladly donated this stone for the creation of this commemorative ensemble. The memorial ensemble to commemorate the victims of the communist genocide was inaugurated on 14 June 2005.
