Ceļā no Meirāniem uz Lubānu, vecās šosejas malā blakus Aiviekstei stāv sens nams no laukakmeņiem – muzejs Vecais Ceplis.
Jāņa Zābera muzejs viņa dzimtajās mājās tika atklāts 1973. gada 11. augustā – dziedātāja dzimšanas dienā, tikai dažus mēnešus pēc viņa nāves. Piemiņas koncertu līdzās mājai iekārtotajā koncertestrādē noklausījās vairāk nekā trīs tūkstoši visu paaudžu klausītāju. Vairākus gadus, pieminot izcilo mākslinieku, ap viņa dzimšanas dienas laiku viņa tēva mājās tika rīkoti koncerti.
Šī sabiedriskā muzeja izveidē iniciatīvu uzņēmās dziedoņa draugs, Lauksaimniecības akadēmijas docents, vēlākais akadēmiķis Sigizmunds Timšāns kopā ar operteātra kolēģi Maiguru Andermani. Lielu atbalstu sniedza vietējie kolektīvi, Madonas novadpētniecības un mākslas muzejs ar Annu Rudenāju priekšgalā, Zābera draugi un kolēģi. Pašlaik Jāņa Zābera muzejs Vecais ceplis ir Zāberu ģimenes privātīpašums, par kuru gādā dziedātāja brāļa Miervalža meita Gunta Brieze.
