Description
Mūra baznīca celta 1679.–1680. g. pēc būvmeistara R. Bindenšū projekta par Rīgas rātes līdzekļiem. Ēka vairākkārt cietusi ugunsgrēkos. Starp baznīcu un 20.gs. 30. gados celto slimnīcu atrodas lībiešu pils aizsardzībai rakts grāvis. Baznīcas dārzā atrodas 1923. gadā pēc arhitekta P. Kundziņa meta celtais piemineklis 1914.-1920. gadā Latvijas atbrīvošanas cīņās kritušajiem Limbažu apkārtnes cīnītājiem. Pieminekļa atklāšanā 1923. gadā piedalījās Latvijas Valsts prezidents Jānis Čakste.
