Description
1831. gadā vecās koka baznīcas vietā, kas bija celta uz se nās kapsētas, uzcēla tagadējo Subates mūra baznīcu. Celšanas darbus subsidēja grāfs Miķelis Plāters-Zībergs. Baznīcu iesvē tīja sv. Miķeļa Ercenģeļa godam. Celta tā no laukakmeņiem, bez torņiem, senbazilikas stilā, 30 x 16 x 9 m liela. Baznīcai trīs ārējās durvis un 14 logi. Apkārt baznīcai pagalms ar mūra žogu. Vienā laikā ar baznīcu, tās priekšā ir uzbūvēts no lauk akmeņiem zvanu tornis ar vārtiem. Tornī viens bronzas zvans. Netālu no zvanu torņa īpatnējs koka krusts no 1889. gada. Žogam betona jumts. Baznīcai cinkota skārda jumts, kas segts 1976. gadā.
